Lets install the proprietary ATI drivers, if you are in X, exit out now.
1. Install the xorg-driver-fglrx package:
sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
2. Add fglrx to /etc/modules:
echo fglrx | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
Now the module will not be loaded automatically until we reboot, so lets load it manually:
sudo depmod -a
sudo modprobe fglrx
